Plan For Your Birth
In the news recently there is a lot about planning for your birth, writing birth plans and following them. The news is not good, what people are basically saying is, why plan, if you cannot control what is going to happen anyway.
What I say to these people is try writing a plan that is generic, [...]

Birth Plan
Article by Janine DeBaise: Here is the plan for the birth of my child. I've taken words from the dreams of 200 women. I'm translating them for the hospital staff. 1. No blue hospital gown. No sterile drapes. When I give birth, I want to be naked. I want my body to choose the colour of its growing. 2. No enema. No antiseptic wash. No shaving of pubic hair. If I wanted to shave something, I'd shave my head. Like Jean-Luc Picard. I've always wanted to be captain of a star ship. When I give birth, I explore uncharted territory, I move and writhe into new worlds. I want to go where no man has gone before.

Birth Plans in Military Hospitals
Hello!
I went through the tags and didn't see anything related to this, but sorry if I missed one. We are planning a completely natural birth (no drugs or IVs, "rooming in", tweaked vaccinations..etc) but we are giving birth at a military hospital. I have a birth plan that I had to put together for my Bradley class and I'm pretty happy with it, but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with birth plans at military hospitals and how it went over. We are delivering at Evans. We are currently using a NP but are switching after our appt tomorrow to a midwife at the same practice (army clinic) because our discussion about how we were hoping our birth would progress with our NP was pretty much met with a "Well, that's nice."
Any thoughts or advice from ladies who have done...
