Is It Okay To Decline Cervical Checks At Midwife Appointments?
I got the, I suppose, inevitable call from my doctor-sister.She was concerned, of course, with my choice of having a homebirth. She was, also of course, woefully uninformed about midwifery and its safety. I informed her. I also informed her of how actually informed I AM. That this is an informed choice. And reminded her too, that I apprenticed with a midwife and have been a doula.We agreed to disagree.All of this was actually funny and pleasant. It didn't ruffle me or her.
