I was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about a week ago,
and I can't help but wonder what this is going to mean in the
future for me in terms of a home birth. My husband and I have
had our hearts set on a completely natural home birth with a
midwife for a looooong time. We *just* started TTC before
I found out I was diabetic, and we're going to be taking
a few months off now while I get things sorted out with my
body. I am struggling mentally/emotionally with this
diabetes diagnosis because I thought I had great control over my
body (although, yes, I know, there's nothing I could have done to
prevent this). I was somebody who stayed away from
doctors as much as possible (largely because I have no health
insurance), but after spending the ...
